Terms of Service
The terms under which you may use AltGenie, including the free WordPress.org build and the Pro and Agency licenses sold via LemonSqueezy.
1. License
The free build of AltGenie, available on WordPress.org, is licensed under the GPL (or a compatible license), consistent with WordPress.org plugin directory requirements. You may use it on any number of sites at no cost, subject to the 50-generations-per-month BYOK cap.
The Pro license is a single-site license: it applies to one WordPress installation. The Agency license applies to an unlimited number of sites. Both are sold through LemonSqueezy-hosted checkout. Your license key is validated against AltGenie's servers as described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Bring your own key (BYOK)
If you use BYOK mode, you are responsible for your own relationship with your AI provider (OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Google Cloud Vision), including the cost of API calls, compliance with that provider's terms, and ensuring you have the right to send your images to that provider. AltGenie does not control, guarantee, or take responsibility for your provider's service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use AltGenie to process images you do not have the right to process, to violate any law, or to infringe any third party's rights. You are responsible for the content you generate and for reviewing generated alt text before publishing it.
4. No warranty
AltGenie is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. AI-generated alt text may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing generated content. AltGenie is an accessibility and SEO aid, not a guarantee of compliance.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltGenie's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the plugin is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months preceding the claim, or zero for the free tier.

7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
